"ThE EYe" Germanium Companion FY2 style Fuzz

from $129.00
sale

Absolutely rude, rowdy and downright rancid. Preorders accepted for shipping approx Feb 20th!

The original Shin-ei FY-2 Companion fuzz has a feral and brash, splash-and-smash fuzz tone. Big, thick lows with the mids scooped out and a sizzling silicon blast of treble on top.

THe EYe is not a clone or copy. We preferred the timbre of germanium to silicon, especially when dialing in a sizzling top end. An unusual filter changed the game, and an additional gain stage provided a deeper layer of saturation. Mad midrange began glaring and blaring out of the speaker. The Eye had opened to gaze upon an apocalyptic audio fuzzscape.

This is not a pedal you carefully adjust to get a tiny bit more overdrive into a smooth solo tone.

You crank the “filter” control down to burn away both lows and highs. Flip the switch to radically inflame the mids, or squelch the midrange down to sputtering coals. There is no subtlety, only licks of feedback flame emerging from a cloud of smoking fuzz.

Our least beautiful pedal, one that has everyone in the shop blissfully dialing in swells of terrifying and delightfully abnormal fuzz.
