What began as a custom order is quickly becoming a shop favorite.
The twanging fuzz tones of the “Spaghetti Western” films require a unique fuzz. Fuzzes of the era, especially the Tone Bender Mk1.5 and the Fuzzrite provided that iconic edge.
I’ve cooked up a unique take on the MK1.5 circuit to conjure the bite and twang on rounder-sounding modern amps. A mini switch lets you kick in a “high tilt” to lean into the rasp and buzz of that genre, all while the carefully selected Telefunken black glass germanium transistors round out the tone from becoming harsh.
An internal trim allows you to blend in more low end if you feel a need for it, and in the case you turn it all the way up, you would have the full range of a proper fuzz face. The bias control lets you dial in the harmonics perfectly - setting the bias higher will get you more into the realm of an overdriven spaghetti western tone, or back it down for a crumbling tumbleweed edge.
